This is going to be a little bit different from my normal posts, but this is something I really want share with you all. Last year I wasn’t working much (which is why I started this blog) but with that came less income in our household. Fast forward to now, I am working full-time, but we are paying for two houses, and as much as I wish we were Jay-Z and Beyoncé, we definitely are not, and money is tight. I found a few apps that I love, and have used some that have flopped, and I’m here to tell you which ones I’ve tested and fully approve, and I hope you check them out. It’s the easiest way to make a little side money – because this girl likes to shop and unfortunately those pink velvet, gold heeled shoes don’t come for free.
Mercari + Poshmark – I put these in the same category because they’re basically the same thing. They’re both apps where you can sell basically anything you want that you don’t use or have a need for anymore. I will usually go through my closet at every season change and get rid of stuff I haven’t worn for a while, and I’ll post them to both of these apps and give them a few weeks on there before I take them to consignment. I’ve sold well over $300 worth of stuff on Mercari and about $100 worth of stuff on Poshmark in the last year. Plus I’ve found some awesome deals on stuff from other people as well! Download Mercari and use code BNDJHY to get $2 and download Poshmark and use code PNGMB to get $5!
Receipt Hog – this is an app where you just snap a picture of your receipts – groceries, gas, shopping, a night out, ANYTHING, and you’ll get a certain amount of coins based on how much you’ve spent. Once you get so many coins, you can get paid out in Amazon gift cards or through PayPal where you can put it directly into your bank account. I’ve made $45 over the past year, which doesn’t seem like a lot, but when all I’m doing is snapping a picture of my receipts on stuff I’m already going to buy, that’s pretty amazing. I mean, it’s FREE MONEY! There’s no referral code, so just go download the app and start getting money back!
Ibotta – Ibotta is probably my favorite of all the apps because it’s again, so easy, and there are so many opportunities to get more money back. You can get money back on certain purchases at grocery stores, clothing stores, online purchases or even restaurants and bars. You can then cash out through PayPal or Venmo or pick from numerous gift cards! I’ve made over $100 back in the past year, and you can get $10 just for signing up with code lxtjxjc. bevRAGE – I was just introduced to this app last week and I’ve already made over $10. I don’t know if that’s savvy or sad, but either way, it’s extra money in my pocket so consider me #notmadatit. This app allows you to make money back for your alcohol purchases, whether they’re at the store or at a bar or restaurant. The payouts are huge (we are talking $1 back for buying a domestic draft at dinner!) and they add up fast, and the best part – they go directly to your PayPal which can then be transferred directly into your bank account! There’s no minimum amount you have to make before you can cash out, and that is definitely something to cheers to! The app is not allowed in all states because of certain laws, but if you’re in a state that allows it use code NFJHADBJ and get $2 just for redeeming your first offer!
If you do the math, over the past year I’ve made over $500 just by using apps on my phone. The easiest $500 I’ve ever made in my life.
